Suian (Tea Room)
Experience the atmosphere of the bygone era of the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
HiSUi TOKYO’s tea room, “Suian”, is modeled after teahouses in the late 16th century’s “Azuchi-Momoyama” period. This was the period made famous by some of the most powerful samurai warlords, Nobunaga Oda and Hideoyoshi Toyotomi. Partly due to policies put into place by Nobunaga Oda, and the gradual weakening of Buddhism, the Azuchi-Momoyama period was the era where a culture of wealth and luxury flourished. This culture which is now known as “Azuchi-Momoyama culture” started as a casual enjoyment of tea among the wealthy, but evolved into the fine craft of the tea ceremony.

Monday-Friday (including national holidays) 10:00-17:00
We may be able to accept requests outside of the above hours, so please contact us first if you would like to use our office in the evening or on Saturdays and Sundays.
Facility rental fee: ¥33,000 per hour
Please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on the content of the project and other reservations.

Dojo (Training Room)
Experience the atmosphere of the bygone era of the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
For many people, the word “Dojo” conjures images of the Edo-era’s training halls filled with people learning the way of martial arts. While many of these training halls were meant for training, they were also prominently featured for meditation as well. The main purpose of these halls were to build a suitable place to immerse the students in an environment where they could focus on their art.
Whether it is wearing a kimono, writing Japanese calligraphy or practicing the art of cutting with a Japanese sword, you can enjoy learning any of these cultural art forms in the same glorious atmosphere that Nobunaga Oda and Hideyoshi Toyotomi experienced in the past.
